Strategic targets of an organization are transformed into operational goals by the sales management.

The core tasks are as follows:

  • Managing market development and resource allocation,
  • managing conflicting goals,
  • renumeration and incentives for sales employees, and
  • controlling processes.

Sales excellence here includes approaches and processes for the systematic analysis of sales and marketing data with the aim of gaining information to enable better decisions with regard to company goals.

Such an analysis goes beyond analyzing past data. Using returns and risk parameters (such as CAGR), planning and prognoses are compiled and validated according to a continuous reporting system and, if necessary, adjustments are made.
